Therefore some initiatives have called for the collection of spirits, vodka or gin. The alcohol obtained from these is then used to produce the urgently needed disinfectant. The joint action against the spread of coronavirus is supported by Lusetnau's local companies and the football club Austria Lustenau. After a call in the newspapers and on Facebook, hundreds of households offered their alcohol residues, the members of the Football Club Austria Lustenau collected thousands of liters of alcohol all over the region. Spirits of all kinds could be donated, the higher the alcohol content of the spirits the higher will be the disinfectant output. The average alcohol content of the spirits is 38 percent, the distillate has 85% or more. The 85% alcohol is added with glycerine and peroxide of hydrogen. Approximately two-thirds of the quantity of origin will be left over as disinfectant. And we were really surprised by the collected quantity and I would say thank the population – great action!
