- Description:11:50:19 - A01. HRN-3225 In: 11.50.19 Out: 11.51.27 Sound Bite: Kiefer Sutherland No didnt work with a single actor (talks) absolutely, absolutely I think for all of the things you know nothings for free and so all of the benefits and the freedom are you know being to check your physicality at the door, only being responsible for the emotional content and voice and developing this wonderful kind of content with the animators uh for all of the freedom that entails it cost something and you know as an actor Im incredibly dependent upon the other actors that Im working with and so to work in the booth by yourself for a little while, thats an adjustment uhm but I you know I ended up having a blast and actually when you go see the movie uh for the first time their were times where they play back stuff that Reese has done so I could hear where she was at. But uh the idea of when you you go see the film you see it for the first time. You know I never saw any animation throughout the entire process either, just this kind of cut out picture of the guy on a general WR monitor and that was it. 11:51:37 - A02. HRN-3225 In: 11.51.37 Out: 11.52.41 Sound Bite: Kiefer Sutherland Well not necessarily realistic but I found he was the archetypical character of kind of the military general whos you know working in the covert world of this prison and you know he was just uh larger than life and lets go get him and well take him down and you know all that kind of stuff. Uhm one of the nice things I loved about the character was just his arc and kind of really gaining this unbelievable respect for his own monsters and what they were capable up and what theyre capable of. Uh and he stays true his promises which I liked a lot. (talks) War Monger, yeah and you know I think thats a wonderful level of satire that is really thread throughout the entire film whether its poking fun at the president or uh and all of that stuff and I saw the film for the very first time with all adults and I was just amazed how funny it was. And it wasnt just me, all the adults were laughing from the beginning to the end so. 11:52:52 - A03. HRN-3225 In: 11.52.52 Out: 11.53.09 Sound Bite: Kiefer Sutherland Yes, absolutely and then if the animators can do it in a physically funny way it will also resonate with the children for very different reasons and that was something that I felt was really delicately handled and beautifully done in this film. 11:53:15 - A04. HRN-3225 In: 11.53.15 Out: 11.53.56 Sound Bite: Kiefer Sutherland It was actually very specific, Walt Disney released a movie every 7 years one for each generation. My generation was Bambi, uh structurally I dont think you can find a better dramatic story uh loses his mother in the first act, falls in love on the second act, forest is on fire in the third act, has to come of age and be a man and then is confronted with his father who hes never known. I mean thats an unbelievable drama (talks) Oh no I mean that was my doorway to films, I cried, I laughed you know it had everything in it uhm but youre right uh it was one every seven years.
