Uhm and why I thought it was interesting was all of the, hes kind of a fool, he makes dumb decisions uh what was really important to me was I do is I did someone who was kind of like it wasnt just a satire, it wasnt just a characture I did a character that people cared about and rooted for and wants to succeed that was the most, clearly the most overriding important thing, apart from getting the funny stuff right. 22:57:15 - A02. HRN-2551 In: 22.57.15 Out: 22.57.55 Sound Bite: Steve Coogan Yeah, yeah, yeah the the the the ? roots to success uhm yeah there are a lot of Shakespeare devises used within it and there are I think all the best comedy sort of satirizes the thing that then becomes and and laughs at the thing it becomes and it laughs at inspirational teaching movies and yet becomes one and it satirizes the Shakespearean elements and uh devices that uh, it sort of, it mocks and loves things at the same time in a strange way. 22:58:11 - A03. HRN-2551 In: 22.58.11 Out: 22.59.03 Sound Bite: Steve Coogan Uh well the rock me sexy Jesus thing when I first saw it I was a little nervous about it, not sure about it, I didnt want it to be shocking just for the sake of being shocking, its just that I dont like that kind of thing, theres gotta be a point to it and the whole tone of the script is not mean spirited or or or uh anyway kind of antagonistic or or angry its kind of a love behind it so that to me was the important thing. And part of the joke is that its not entirely appropriate for him to play Jesus on stage in a school, its just, its like the off sense, its about a slight lack of judgment but its done from a good place and hes got a good heart and hes trying to do the right thing so many peoplepart of the thing is laughing at the kind of, of him making a slightly inappropriate decision and then forgiving him because you know hes doing it from a position of love. 22:59:10 - A04. HRN-2551 In: 22.59.10 Out: 22.59.27 Sound Bite: Steve Coogan Well I mean I like coming over here its just the weathers nice and theres more, I like looking at beautiful people. (Laughs)
