- Description:12:28:35 - Chitchat about braking noses. Sound Bite: Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini One thing Im most proud of is I never had my nose broke. Ive had it swollen, bruised, banged up, (talking) never had it broken, very proud of that. Sound Bite: Randy Couture Oh I broke mine. Sound Bite: Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini (Talking) In the fight it is, especially my style too. And I said believe me if I was going to have any work done I was going to come out looking like Arel Flynn, it aint going to be like this. Trust me. It wont be this. 12:29:05 - Is the fighting authentic? Did it seem real? Sound Bite: Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini Its authentic? (Talking) Well ah for me watching it you know I blocked it I thought they brought some authentic to it but of course this is Randys ah domain and you know he, thats what I asked Randy you know did you buy it? Because, because. . . . Sound Bite: Randy Couture Yeah yeah no I did I thought they did a great job and obviously John Machado hes a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu he was Chiwetels in the main fight he was the guy so obviously he knows Jiu Jitsu inside and out but I was impressed with Chiwetel and how well he picked up the physicality of Jiu Jitsu and the fluidity of it he knew exactly where he needed to be he did a lot of homework on that. 12:29:52 - Talking about being a boxer. Sound Bite: Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini Absolutely. It certainly is, I mean like any martial art, which boxing isnt is part of it takes a certain discipline of focus. And you have to live a certain lifestyle uh you know you got to be ready to go at any moments notice most of us you know most of us dont like to fight in the street, you can avoid it at all costs, but if you have to go you have to go. So uh and thats what I like about this philosophy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. 12:30:19 - Talking about his role in the movie. Sound Bite: Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini Iright, but Im a knife fighter so I have a different discipline which I like. I learned a different discipline I didnt learn, know and I tell you that knife fighting is vicious (Talking) vicious (Talking). Right, right of course. 12:30:36 - Worked with stunt fighters? Sound Bite: Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini No, no, no, no, thats not what I do. Sound Bite: Randy Couture Uh Ive worked a little bit with, with some stunt coordinators and things like that on, on different movies in, in scenes and getting the action part of the fight and what, you know what will work and what wont work. But not a lot. 12:31:02 - Fan of Mamot? Sound Bite: Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Daves my Shakespeare. You know Cliff Odets, David Mamet, Sam Henry Kass, are my guys. I dont understand Shakespeare thats my Shakespeare. But I know his films I know his plays very well and for every actor you want to say his words. Sound Bite: Randy Couture I was familiar with the films but I wasnt familiar with Dave and his accomplishments and so this has been a huge opportunity for me as somebody who making the transition from athletes to fighting uh to it just gives me a lot of legitimacy to be included in, in a Mamet film and then I got to do a couple episodes of The Unit as well so uh it was great.
