It was great to get involved in those scenes. You know Harry, my character, has really been planning this, has been brooding about it for two films now so I think it was great for the character and for me to put that plan into action. It does, because it has been six years so we have all become really close, Sam, Kirsten, Tobey and I. So the collaboration is great, the repore is great and Sam, I think really trusts the actors a lot more to help create the characters and make sure that their arcs are in place. It was even more fulfilling on this film because he let us be a part of it, be film makers along side of him. 00:35:29 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Bryce Dallas Howard On joining the cast, On the feel of film with Sam Raimi Well it was overall, joining them, a very comfortable experience because I have seen the first and the second film and I knew I was in really really good hands. And I was really, I was stunned at how collaborative the environment was. These are people that have done it before, they knew they knew how to do it yet they wanted to hear my opinion on it so I felt really honored to be a part of it and I still do and I cant believe how huge this is obviously. No, no. When there were huge action sequences with all this debris falling down, there was Sam kind of hanging out over the side of the building throwing pencils down to kind of add to the debris. He was so hands on. This is a huge budget film but because he comes from those independent roots he is very responsible with the budget so honestly they spent a lot of money, what you see on the screen is worth so much more. 00:36:49 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Topher Grace On playing Venom, On being in NY, On the appeal of Spider-Man Im playing like a psycho alien murderer from outer space so there is no way to prep for that, like no, that would be impossible. So no, I kind of like watched the first two films because I wanted to be this mirror image, this kind of mirror evil image of Peter Parker. I know I live in New York and made it great to film this so clearly it is Spider-Mans home so it made it great to film this. Well I think Sam Raimi has done an amazing job with his films at finding great drama and great suspense, he is a master at combining all those elements together. 00:37:43 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Topher Grace On flexing his muscles in the movie It was great, first of all I had to work out for 6-9 months so to have muscles was interesting. I mean I dont want to surprise anyone by saying I have never done that before. And it was great, it was good to play a bad guy. When you are a protagonist it is your job to be a conduit for the audience, when you are a character like Venom you can do whatever you want. It is very frank. 00:38:11 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Topher Grace On joining the case It was daunting. I remember saying to Bryce on the first day, we are the new kids. But they were very welcoming. I wasnt nervous because I knew they all knew what they were doing obviously out of the first two films. 00:39:35 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Thomas Haden Church talking to reporter 00:40:02 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Kirsten Dunst On working with Sam and on the film It just becomes, we all have grown up together so it just becomes more intimate and more collaborative with each film. Its a little bit of both. It takes a long time to shoot these movies, even though Sam has that spirit in him and it ishe is always concentrating on the emotion of the relationships but there is still a lot to do. 00:41:07 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Thomas Haden Church On playing a bad guy, big studio vs independent, on joining the cast, on preparing for the role, on working with Sam It was exciting you know, you got to role with the bad guy. No, not easier. They are always challenging. You know you got to meet each one head on. They are all challenging. No, they couldnt have been more, more more welcoming of somebody elses creativity. They are very collaborative. It was a lot of training and some research and getting into the spirit of the movie. No no no, you got to work with Sam, he is one of the writers, he is the director. Its his thing. Im just a crew member. 00:42:29 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Todd Wagner On working on the film festival Well Ive been on the board for the film festival itself for four years now. Bob and Jane asked me after the second year. I think it is something important to the city since 9/11, what I think is fantastic is that in 6 years it has grown into what it is. It went from, lets face it, something you try to give back to downtown New York to an event, look at this, right and that to me is so fantastic about New York and an attitude to a city to make this a national, worldwide festival in five short years. 00:43:10 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Todd Wagner On short films at Tribeca 00:43:42 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Todd Wagner On why Tribeca works as a film festival For me, I prefer Tribeca. I mean I like the fact it has a very different kind of vibe. I think New York is the place where independent film is. We have two production companies. We make 20 movies a year so we shoot movies out here and I think it is important that this has a festival that represents what independent film is. We are making a movie right now called What Just Happened with Bob DeNiro that we are shooting here. And thats the beauty of this place and so I think the festival itself represents that. 00:44:52 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Puffy Combs walks by on red carpet and talks to reporter 00:47:20 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Elizabeth Banks talking to reporter 00:48:25 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Elizabeth Banks On working on the film 00:48:41 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Elizabeth Banks On laughing on set 00:48:57 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Tobey Maguire working his way down the red carpet 00:49:45 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Tobey Maguire talking to reporters 00:50:54 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sam Raimi talking to reporters 00:51:00 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Tobey Maguire On Spidey 4 Well Im sure there will be one, in terms of my involvement, you know I love working with this group of people. If the circumstances were right I would certainly be excited to consider that possibility. 00:51:20 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Tobey Maguire On favorite scene in a movie Uhhno I dont really have a favorite scene. I like a lot of the things in the movie. 00:51:37 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Tobey Maguire On topping Spidey 2 Well I dont know, I just see them as their own unique films. And I did like part two. This one I feel like is bigger and more exciting and funnier and just goes more indepth in every way. 00:51:57 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere Sound bite: Tobey Maguire On Spider-Man Week Yeah it is pretty exciting what the city put together for Spider-Man Week, it is pretty unbelieveable. They have so many events throughout the city during the week. It is exciting to be part of the whole thing. 00:53:30 - Spider-Man 3 Tribeca Premiere United Artists Theatre sign
