Because we bought magic as a dog and we want her to have a dog friend. Her only friends are us and we dont know how to speak dog. (talks) uh, kinda 00:05:44 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Zoe & Amy Schlagel How nice they are because I like really nice dogs because every time we come home she tries to jump up and give us a hug but my mom dont like it and she tries to climb up on us and my mom and dad dont like that so every time I come she is so excited. 00:06:11 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Zoe & Amy Schlagel No, because dogs chase cats. (talks) Sometimes because on this movie called UmmmI forgot but it was a really good movie, it was called Otis and something. (talks) Yeah, and they got along and I got that movie I think for Christmas. 00:06:40 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Drew Barrymore talking to reporters 00:07:22 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Drew Barrymore On Molly Shannon 00:08:02 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Drew Barrymore standing for photo op 00:08:25 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Drew Barrymore I know my dog Vivian understands everything I say so yeah, she is pretty human. She has very human eyes. 00:08:44 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Drew Barrymore talking with reporters 00:08:50 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Molly Shannon on the red carpet 00:09:13 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Mike White on the red carpet to WS of red carpet, Shannon and White talking to reporters 00:09:48 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Molly Shannon talking with reporters 00:10:26 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Shondrella Avery On what brings her to the premiere 00:11:03 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Shondrella Avery On being a fish person Ill take it because Ive got a little bit of slanted eyes. People think I have a little bit of Asian in me. No, actually, I must say Im a fish person because they are easy to clean up after. I mean cats, they need a lot of attention, a lot of love. I dont have any children yet. So I go for the fish thing. I have a great pond with the coy fish so I like fish, but I could be a dog today. I think I could be a dog today. 00:11:39 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Shondrella Avery Confidence, I think loyality, the ability to listen to you when the woman wont listen to you. Because you said a mans best friend so Im thinking literally a man. Very very true. I just think of loyality. Your dog will be there to protect you. Protection. But sometimes people have a little bitty dog and I dont quite know what their protection deal is. I mean Im six feet, Im rockin, I would have to have a dog right up to here to make me feel like Im scared of it but I think it is just an old clich, protection. From what Ive known. I think Mark Wahlberg had a dog in Shooter and that dog was pretty intense and if you havent seen that movie I think you should. Its a good movie, a good movie. 00:12:57 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: WS of Premiere red carpet and Josh Pais talking to a reporter 00:13:14 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Mike White Well I love dogs and I figured that since I am a first time director I might as well make a movie with twenty dogs in it, just stack the deck against success. (Talks) It is like if I can handle fifteen dogs, I can handle anything. 00:13:34 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Mike White I think people who have pets are going to relate to the movie because dogs, they dont talk back to you. You dont have bargain with them. They are just a pure source of affection and love. So every body loves a dog. 00:14:00 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Mike White What was weird was that the dogs, if anything were over trained. They, like sometimes I was like just let the dogs go crazy and Ill just shoot my master and lets just let them go and I would stand back there and the dogs would just sit there. It is like, this is not going to sell so we actually had to teach the dogs new tricks which was just being dogs. 00:14:25 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Mike White On his dogs I have two dogs, I have two French bulldogs and they are little bitches, excuse me, in the dog way of being a bitch. (talks) Yeah, I have a dog, Ginger, who likes to pee on my bed when I come back from out of town which is a sweet gift to come back to. Yeah, she tries to boss me around. She is the boss of the house. 00:15:07 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Josh Pais I think Dogs dont have an agenda. I think they are really with you. I think they have an agenda when they want food, but after they are satiated and they want to connect. And they are mans best friend. You know they just really are there for you and they listen and they are great partners. (talks) I do, I have a Jack Russell named June who is 112 in Dog years. 00:17:03 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Molly Shannon I guess because they are loyal, they cant cause any complications, they dont speak up so it is a nice simple relationship and they are loyal. If you take care of them they will be loyal. (talks) I am a dog person but when I was about 12 or 13 I developed an allergy so we had to get rid of them. I have little kids now and they really want to get a dog so maybe we will get one. 00:17:39 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Molly Shannon I did, there were so many dogs but it worked fine, there werent any problems. 00:17:49 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Molly Shannon Uma dog do something humanumlemme see.we had a dog growing up that could eat potato chips. It looked kind of human, it could sit up and eat potato chips. Nothing more than that. Actually the owner of the dog would lift his teeth out and give him chips. Actually it wasnt very normal looking, it looked kind of forced but it wasnt so good, but we thought it was funny though because the dog would go rrrrrggghhh. You could tell the dog was mad and she would shove potato chips in his mouth. She was usually kind of drunk. It wasnt very good. Not a good story. 00:18:44 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Molly Shannon On being the inspiration for the movie 00:19:18 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Laura Dern talking to reporters 00:20:04 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: The cast standing around for photo op 00:20:54 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Paramount pictures arch and Year of the Dog poster, Premiere setting 00:21:34 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Bobby Dorafshar We go to shelters and we rescue dogs from death row pretty much and we bring them to our facility and we look for the home and some of the dogs we train to be a companion for a family with kids with autism. 00:22:06 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Bobby Dorafshar On training the dogs for autistic children 00:22:20 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Bobby Dorafshar On the success of dogs with autistic children 00:22:43 - Year of the Dog Premiere Sound bite: Bobby Dorafshar It is more about educating the public. Letting people know how a dog can change everybodys life. And having a dog, which is what the movie is about. How can actually show how much love we have for other creatures. And this creature can come to a life and change a life, become a better person. 00:23:14 - Year of the Dog Premiere B-roll: Dog
