- Title: FJ-HRN-454
- Summary: ROBIN WILLIAMS/THE NIGHT LISTENER: HRN-454 The Night Listener Robin Williams
- Description:17:13:15 - Sound Bite: Robin Williams Yes based on a novelization of an actual incident that happened to Armistead Maupin and thats what makes it kind of fascinating because you know the fictionalized aspects vs. you know what actually happened to him vs. the script of it. You know have layer upon layer and thats what the movie is, a bit like those Russian dolls you know you come back to the bottom whoa its an eyeball. You know thats whats kind of frightening about it and also engaging about it. 17:13:52 - Sound Bite: Robin Williams I see him all over. Armistead is like the second mayor you know Armistead will show up at occasions and hes also Armistead has been a very political figure for a lone time. 17:14:08 - Sound Bite: Robin Williams No he didnt talk about it then we talked about it once he sent the script and he said you know he disturbing it was for him and even how when we were shooting the movie we think that the woman contacted Tony and sent a letter saying I hope youre enjoying this character and its like wohoo who thank you. Its like getting fan mail from one of the Manson family Hey good luck, make me funny. It is that kind of scary thing that its you know exists. 17:14:34 - Sound Bite: Robin Williams Yeah no I read it when, well no I read it before doing the movie and its you know theres parts of the book that are in there but also you have the restraint of time you know. But he tried to condense it and I think in a good way. And he was there on the set all the time really working and making sure you know knowing that some things could be you know are the book and other things are not but yet still giving it you know a certain momentum. 17:18:08 - Sound Bite: Robin Williams Yeah the material engages you, the I mean when they come out its not a choice like now do the comedy, now the drama no its just the idea of a piece like this is so well written you really want to do it because its got a lot to work with and then when they mentioned Toni Collette I went awe man that would be wonderful. Then you have a whole group of people that and you build a great cast and meeting Patrick. You know Patrick is young hes only done one other movie and hes got the chops and its nice I think its a great homage to him that they compare it to Hitchcock. Which means it engages you you know viscerally but also cerebrally so its good its a nice double bill.
