- Title: FJ-HRN-042
- Summary: Colin Firth/Nanny McPhee: HRN-042 Nanny Mcphee COLIN FIRTH
- Description:04:18:41 - I think almost, almost everybody has to have ambivalence somewhere I dont adore it I dont entirely hate it. Its a lot easier to be in the middle of all this when things are going well. 04:18:55 - I dont relish in it I dont go looking for it. I actually find, As I said, when Im here, if things are going well you get treated well. Not that happy a place to be when things arent going well. 04:19:16 - Yea but.. barely. I mean, our paths crossed on love actually but uhm the allusion of us having working together is an allusion.. it uhmm i.. theres an airport scene at the end when everybody is there, but apart from that we hardly saw each other on that film. Ive met her socially a couple times. 04:19:48 - She I think was the first person I spoke to in relation to it. 04:19:59 - Sound Bite: COLIN FIRTH it became her to me. I mean I dont know how she feels about it, but as far as Im concerned it was indistinguishable from Ema Thomson after a while. I got a pleasant shock, if she showed up in set without it, but I got very used to them being. You know, and I sorta miss those gigantic hips. Hahaha. When she wasnt dressed like that so uh, you adapt to a lot of weird things on a film set. 04:20:36 - Do you know what I think, one of the things I liked most looking back on the film.. and theres also some reasons going over and over and over about why I like doing it and whats important to illustrate to children and you know thats true. You know that it had a uh back time to and innocent story telling. There arent any ironic quarks here that its very straight forward. What I think this has appeal to here is the atmosphere of the film.. theres something dark its got a kind of elegance about it. Its something a little bit menacing. And its something that in all the childrens stories that have really endured of over time theres been that dark scary thing. So its got magic and it does make everyone take their hankerchiefs out. That obviously works after these screenings. But its also got a camp comic theatrical spookiness to it. You know we got this back drop here and this dark purple. You know its like the lining of coffins you know in the funeral parlor. And a make up artist for corpses.. you know the house looks like the psycho house.. and nanny McPhee arrived shes a frightening silhouette and then back lit by lightening out side the side of the house.. you know I love that mood.
