- Title: Made In Britain: How To Be A Man
- Date: 9th May 2003
- Summary: There is Spess, the ladies' man, an unreconstructed member of the old school, who reveals why it's so much better to have three women than one: one for sex, one for company, and one for cooking. Poet Robert Twigger believes that men need to rediscover the manual skills of their hunter-gatherer past. Skinning rabbits and making fire is his way of maintaining a connection with his biological masculine heritage. Then there are the men who embody playfulness - a group of late thirtysomethings who spend their free time skateboarding and DJing. And finally, there are the men who need an acceptable outlet for their violent instincts: lawyers and city boys who connect with their manliness by entering the boxing ring in a sort of white-collar Fight Club.
- Description:For the Friday 7.30pm slot: Antonio "The Doctor" Marrese presents his blueprint for how to succeed as a man: forget smelting iron ore, fighting wars and building roads; infantilism, nihilism, baby fathering and pointless fun are the new rites of male passage. And if anyone embodies this new spirit it's the Doc.
