- Title: Adam Ant: The Madness Of Prince Charming
- Date: 17th July 2003
- Summary: This film charts the rise and fall of one of the great pop icons of the 1980s. At the peak of his popularity, Adam Ant sold millions of records and graced the covers of a thousand teen magazines. But as his fan base dwindled, so his private life began to disintegrate. Terrorised by stalkers, plagued by mental illness, Adam ended up at the Old Bailey, charged with affray. He's currently receiving treatment at the Royal College of Psychiatry - but is ready to tell his story. The film looks at the pressures of fame - and what happens when that fame disappears. Adam reflects on his glory days and his spectacular fall from grace, talking honestly and openly about the depression that's haunted him for more than 30 years. He relives the horror of being stalked by obsessive fans and talks for the first time about the events leading up to his breakdown. Made with Adam's full and exclusive co-operation, the programme contains contributions from family, friends and musical collaborators, along with classic performances of hits like Dog Eat Dog, Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming.
