Despite the advantages of higher education Carl finds it almost impossible to forgive his psycho brother Sterling for framing him for the killing of Eric "Cheesedish" McSweeny. When Carl is made unstructured activities co-ordinator at the local primary school and starts to implement some of the idealistic theories of socialism,he runs into direct conflict not only with his gangland brother, but also the head of the family firm, the notorious Mrs Moss and Pauline his parole officer. With his brother, mum, parole officer and head of the police all after him,Carl hides in his favourite spot in the play house in the school attic. Sterling knows where to find him and they come face to face and discuss their predicament; how two bodies are fighting for one personality. Only one of the brothers survives but no one knows which one and he walks away talking to his two personalities.
