Summary:In the 1987,Prince Charles caught the public imagination when he castigated modern architecture for haveing "wrecked the London skyline and desecrated the dome of St Paul's". His immediate gaze was the Paternoster Square redevelopment to the north of the cathedral, but to the south, another site,Petershill had also become ripe for redevelopment. This, planners felt, was even more important in terms of creating a suitable architectural environement for the cathedral. For over a year, the programme makers followed the process of designing a scheme for Petershill,to get an inside look at the way architecture and the planning system works.
