Summary:Randy travels to England from his New Jersey home to probe the secrets of the ancient, 12-bedroomed, Forest of Dean house. He is here at the invitation of Donald Macer-Wright, the Hall's owner who faces a heart-breaking decision. The banks have withdrawn Donald's overdraft, heritage organisations no longer have money for grants and the recession has halved the number of paying visitors to this beautiful but isolated family home. Having struggled for 20 years to save the Hall, 47-year- old Donald hopes that authenticating his ghosts and learning more of their troubled history could give him the ammunition he needs. If the scheme is not successful, he must either sell his beloved home or close it down.
