The band was created on ITV's reality show 'Popstars: The Rivals' where each girl was voted into the band by the audience and then went head to head with the rival boy band to compete for the Christmas number one spot. Girls Aloud's single 'Sound of the Underground' won the top spot and was a huge hit. The band have continued to stay at the top with every single entering the charts in the top ten; a record that no other girl band has achieved. It is a stressful trip with a hectic schedule and with no time to recover from the long flight the girls are tired and Cheryl is not happy with the Australian stylist. They do interview upon interview to promote the band and after Sarah also not being happy with one of her outfits,they perform at a live concert nevertheless and go down a storm. After a night in with the mini bar Cheryl is feeling a little worse for wear the next day and is sick outside the airport. The girls visit a zoo in Sydney and get to meet some of their Australian superfans. To end the holiday the girls finally have a big night out and hit the tequilas but Cheryl has learnt her lesson and goes home early whilst Nadine is elsewhere meeting up for the evening with Jesse Metcalfe her new 'friend'.
