Further along, two men, friends, shake hands several times before leaving each other. The man in the derby hat just misses falling in a hole several times. He lights a cigarette and begins to try to charm the passing women. He approaches a young woman who ignores him and looks at him disdainfully. Her husband arrives and jealously slaps the man in the derby hat, who he perceives as a rival. He falls to the ground and is splashed then by a delivery truck. The tire delivery man begins to argue with him.
