- Summary: Eagle Eye / Michael Chiklis: Eagle Eye Michael Chiklis
- Description:13:11:25 - Sound Bite: Michael Chiklis on the concept of the film that Spielberg conceived Well he was ahead of it. Clearly a visionary guy and uh you know technology has leapt way ahead of us to a point where now we have to take the time to sort of look at it in a different way. You know I look at technology like fire, you know, it can warm us and cook our food and be our friend but it can also burn us and potentially kill us so its true I mean you know the fact of the matter is we face really serious and grave security issues in this new post-9/11 world, however um if people are ruled and driven by their own fear um they can in their zeal to keep us safe they can get you know forget about their freedoms. 13:12:26 - Sound Bite: Michael Chiklis more on technology intrusion Well its not just wire-tapping, its a very advanced listening devices, you know being able to you know, you can go on the internet right now and look at your yard on the computer, and thats not the closest zoom. Thats what they put out for consumers, right, you have a particular you know they stop that but they can zoom right into your nostril so, which is kind of gross isnt it? But no its just stuff its all about balance and we need to think about these things and in the context of a thrill ride of a movie, thats when a movie really delivers the trifecta as far as Im concerned when you get you know you keep me on the edge of my seat you thoroughly entertain me as an audience member but you also make me think and feel, take a ride with an emotional ride with some characters that Im really engaged with, thats a good formula for a winner. 13:13:40 - Sound Bite: Michael Chiklis on all the crappy action scripts out there Yeah they dont have a soul. Theyre just like, you know who cares what blows up? You know what I mean, or who blows up or what? You know what I mean, you have to be engaged in your characters and two things you can do with that, if its great on the page then thats where you want to start with but then you want to cast people like Shia and like Michelle who you actually innately are likable and you care about and theyre accessible and you want to take that ride and go with them and you want for them, thats smart. 13:14:22 - Sound Bite: Michael Chiklis whats Shia like to work with Oh hes a blast, hes a goofball and hes really a good guy. I mean what comes off on the screen is his nature, hes just a sweet, smart, fun-loving you know 22 year old kid you know and people are judgmental in that you know they look at people through a microscope and this guy is really on the right path. Hes very very smart savvy kid and hes a good kid, so Im proud of him, I think hes terrific.
