Its great to have everybody back. I mean its wonderful, and to have it yanked away means, you know, you dont realize what you had till youve had it yanked away. And yes, its true, it was the cult that brought it back. That means its for real, that means its, you know, its its its a nicer thing to know that people and their their love of the show really brought it back, you know. 00:03:02 - Sound Bite: David Herman What the movies like I dont know. Im about to see it myself, Ill tell ya Ill tell ya when I come back out. I have not seen it yet, I havent seen it yet. And you know, its been awhile since weve recorded this, so like, you know, its gonna be a total surprise for me. Im gonna be going in completely green. 00:03:19 - Sound Bite: David Herman Why the movie was made It wasnt my decision. Haha um you know, this shouldnt surprise you, but Im just a hired gun. Haha um uh I think originally, boy I dont even want to speculate, I dont even know why it was decided, but I know everything was before Comedy Central decided to pick us up, that there was a DVD plan. Yeah. 00:03:41 - Sound Bite: David Herman The number of movies coming out Four. Four. I know my talking points. Four. This is the first of four DVDs. And its Carbon Neutral. 00:04:13 - Sound Bite: Maurice LaMarche What its like to be back Yeah, and were thrilled to be back. Its uh, you just cant keep a good show down, especially a good show set in the thirtieth century, so, were back. 00:04:27 - Sound Bite: Maurice LaMarche About the following of the show Were, were thrilled to have any kind of following, even a cult following. So uh, you know, um, yeah were, you know the, a cult following gets bigger and bigger, and just all of a sudden it just becomes a following. And uh hopefully were getting there, were getting to a full following. So, but the, were grateful to the fans, because its been the fan reaction that has brought us back. Strong DVD sales, good ratings on Adult Swim, and uh, you know were just thrilled, and grateful, very grateful to the fans. 00:04:58 - Sound Bite: Maurice LaMarche Does his voices Absolutely. Uh, I play Lieutenant Cliff Kroaker, Im the beliegered first officer to Captain Zap Brannigan, and my signature is a sigh. Ugh. Im Morbo, the newscaster. And I hate all puny humans. News at eleven. And Im also Calculon, the star of All My Circuits, the robot soap opera. And Im programmed to be very very busy right now, so I cant talk much longer. And Im a new character called Schlump, whos one of the nudist internet alien scammers that start the whole affair off tonight. So 00:05:54 - B-Roll Futurama Premiere Whole cast posing for photo 00:07:03 - B-Roll Futurama Premiere Phil LaMarr talking with other reporters 00:07:45 - Sound Bite: Lauren Tom How it feels to be back How does it feel? It feels fantastic. On so many levels. You know, I always love to work. And just the family of the actors, and the director, and Matt. Its just so great to see everybody. Really a magical little group of people. Theyre zany. 00:08:04 - Sound Bite: Lauren Tom Im like, thank you, thats just so fantastic! Keep doing it! And I think theyre gonna love this movie, and the subsequent ones weve recorded. I know they will. And Im excited because, Futuramas made by braniacs, right? So it never plays down to peoples intelligence. And I think our fans are really smart, and theyre the only ones that can really follow it. I actually have to be explained certain things about storyline, because Im like, what? You know, and then it makes sense, and I, you know, and David went to Harvard, and he hes covered all bases about any possible loop holes, because he knows the fans will be looking for em. Because theyre always right, you know? 00:08:47 - Sound Bite: Lauren Tom I just play, I play Amy, and then Amys mom. (Talks) Oh, um, well Amy is sort of just like me but its just like a little bit higher, and she has just a little bit of a Valley thing sometimes, like and she always likes to say Guh instead of Duh, right? And then her mom just has a little accent, ya know, so. Its like Amy, you know, when are you gonna get married? 00:10:29 - Sound Bite: Katey Sagal Its awesome. I went to Comicon this year for the first time, and we were like rock stars. I mean it was crazy. I had never experienced that. So, Im extremely happy to be here. 00:10:43 - Sound Bite: Katey Sagal Well, the movie takes place two years after where we just left off, and our little delivery company has lost its license. The Box company has let us go, and we have lost our license. No relation to the Fox network. We are the Box network. So um, it takes place there, it opens on a nudist beach, where um, uh, lots of funny things ensue. But Bender is, Bender finds, Im trying to remember exactly. Bender finds the secret to something written on Frys rear end. Theres lots of nudity. We explored Leelas love life. She doesnt quite hook up, but shes, you know, we get a little more deep, in depth about that. 00:11:32 - B-Roll Futurama Premiere Guy in Bender costume, 00:12:57 - Sound Bite: John DiMaggio How do I feel about such a fan base? I feel like a pimp. Its awesome. Just like Bender. No, its great. Its really really somethin. I, they uh, they came out of the woodwork for us, and that was pretty cool. And uh, Ive always been appreciative of everybody that gives me a pat on the back for the work that I do. So its always gratifying. Its always, its always very special, and Im, Im always very humbled. So 00:13:25 - Sound Bite: John DiMaggio What can you expect from the movie? Well, its um, its, Im not supposed to say. Im not supposed to really say anything. Um, but theres nudity, and theres a robot, and he and he and he gets a lot of stuff, and thats about all I can say. Theres a lot of nudity. Tons of nudity. Nudity. Thats about it. 00:14:03 - Sound Bite: John DiMaggio No, um. Yeah, I do Bender. Yeah, I do, Yeah, whats up Bender? Ooh blah bleh, bleh blah bloo bloo. And then um, what else, gosh. I do Santa Claus, Ho ho ho, Ill be hunting you down. Um, gosh, what else. Sal, Oh, yeah, Im unionzieee. Um, gosh, what else, the robot cop, um whos, uh, Hes like this. Ahh yeah. If I catch you breakin the law, youre goin down baby. Ahh yeah. Um, and then, gosh, its, theres theres Elzar, The resident TV chef there. On the uh show. Bam. Hit you with a spice ? there. Boom. Seriously. I wanted to make sure that your Neptunian slug is very fresh, because if its not, you got problems here. So yeah, thats the majority of the ones that I do on the show. 00:15:32 - Sound Bite: Phil LaMarr I, I dont have so much a cult following as a cable following. You cant get away from me. Like you turn on your cable box, and odds are, something Im on will be running. You know? 00:15:50 - Sound Bite: Phil LaMarr I think its amazing, you know? Its, its fun. I mean, to be back with the cast, and also to know that there are people out there who want to see it. I mean, thats sort of the weird thing about making TV, theres a disconnect. Like you do it, and especially animation. Nine months later, somebody airs it, and youre like, Did anybody like it? Who knows? But now that they sell the DVD sets, you know. Like people saw it on TV, and wanted it at home. And thats a great feeling. 00:16:23 - Sound Bite: Phil LaMarr Well, I do the voice of Hermes, who works at Planet Express as their official bureaucrat. I also do the voice of one of the space Globe Trotters. Who are also global physicists. As well as, you know, Globe Trotters. Um, who else? Who else? Ive Ive Ive lost track of all my characters. Um, I play my son, um, whats his name. No, and, I, oh and of course the Robot Preacher. The Robot Preacher. Why a robot would need a preacher, no one knows. But in the future, robots will get religion. 00:17:44 - Sound Bite: Matt Groening & John DiMaggio Matt Groening Its uh, its amazing. The fans are so intense. I guess because Futuramas always been an underdog show back at the very beginning. I mean when when Futurama was first on Fox, they put us on at Sunday at seven P.M. Okay? Simpsons on at eight P.M., we were on at seven P.M., but the, but the slogan that Fox had that night was, The fun begins at eight. Were on at seven, but the fun begins at eight. So it was a very strange, very peculiar time to be at Fox. But now people love us again. And so were back. In DVD form. Were happy. Futurama is is back and its as uh, its as wild as weve ever been, because this time we did it without any notes whatsoever, any network interference, any no nothin. We just did what we wanted to do, and theres alien nudity. Okay? So you have to decide yourself how horrified you are by what you see. Or aroused. John DiMaggio I think you should leave this man alone. I think youre gonna Matt Groening John DiMaggio, the voice of Bender. John DiMaggio Matt Groening, the creator of Simpsons and Futurama. Hes the man, in life and hell. Im so psyched. Matt Groening Hahaha. Cool. See you inside. Okay. 00:19:30 - B-Roll Futurama Premiere Wide shot of theater, Zoom out from Futurama sign to theater, angled zoom outs from sign to theater
