- Summary: Fred Clause: Fred Claus Junket Vince Vaughn Interview
- Description:06:14:19 - Sound Bite: Vince Vaughn chats about working in the biz Im good like that (talks) well I said if it was 20 years ago you probably left at 18 (talks) yeah a long time ago, that was a good one though, swingers. 06:14:58 - Sound Bite: Vince Vaughn on improving lines Sure and and not just my lines but the other lines as well you know you you cant people its so funny they think you improvise you have to have to have a complete scene to track and make sense if youre just saying stuff but the other people arent saying stuff to set up the jokes or most importantly then you dont really have a scene so for a long time, Ive always kind of uh you know and that was part of the fun working with Owen because hes so good at it and and with David as well, the three of us on Crashers were really able to get in there and you know find a lot of fun in that. 06:15:35 - Sound Bite: Vince Vaughn on choosing movie Yeah you know the writer, good writer on this and there was was some tent pole stuff that really worked and then the concept was good uh Jesse Nelsons the producer of the movie her daughter one night asked her did Santa Claus have a brother or sister so the geniuses of the movie was really a bedtime story for a child and I loved the way in of theres no naughty kids uhm and then of course David who I love collaborating with such a great director uhm it was a great leaping off point, we were a little more jammed on this one cause I was coming off of finishing The Break-Up and stuff we didnt have all the time you would normally want to go through and track the screenplay which we were literally writing this movie like at night. Like I would shoot a full day wed go into my trailer, I would write with Jesse and some of the scenes for the, for the next day and then you know have to give them to the actors the next morning and go shoot em. 06:16:37 - Sound Bite: Vince Vaughn I did well some of those times your acting to someone whos face was going to change in the Elf situation but I think its no different than being a kid and playing Cowboys and Indians, its all make-believe so you know even if your on a sled flying its a big enough toy your not really flying its big enough toy so you can pretend that your in that situation so really you get to use your imagination which is fun 06:17:19 - Sound Bite: Vince Vaughn on his method of acting Yeah I was never a comedian in the traditional sense I never did stand up some improv younger but but uh Ive always like human experiences and I think for me in life you have things go wrong and youll have tough times as well and I learned at a young age that a sense of humor really served me well umm your gonna laugh at yourself or your gonna laugh at the hard painful stuff it was always a good way for me to deal with stuff and get past it you know um I think just having that sort of perspective when you go through things is sort of helpful I think Im able to see you know Faverau scene in Swingers which is both really funny but both kind of awkward you know how it feels to be that kinda vulnerable and desperate in that sort of situation and thats the one thing Ill say in Dodgeball, Wedding Crashers and Swingers there comedies and that kinda have great stories and some comedies out there sort sketch scene to scene to scene theres nothing wrong with that but theres nothing wrong with that but my thing my taste is defiantly more to have a real story and to let the humor come out of you to have a human experience
