Voight- well I mean hes the secretary or defense so all of this stuff going on I mean it says destroy transformers protect, the responsibility to protect the folks in the free world is going to be this fella and those guys who sit in those seats they go to sleep with all the worries of the world on them you know on their minds and thats who this guy is so I wanted him to be authentic I wanted us to understand him I also wanted him to be admirable A03-HRN-1298 Cam A In 05:25:47 Out 05:27:13 Sound bite: R.Taylor/J. Voight- working without actual robots there R. Taylor- well I feel as an actor its sort of like being a little kid and going to work and playing dress-up and playing make believe and I think this is probably the closest filming experience that Ive had to that I felt like a little kid on set it was my job to go to work and run away from alien robots that were jooling each other and its extraordinary and I think its your job to just have fun with it and believe it as much as you can because if we didnt believe it the audience werent going to and I think when you see the finished product its an extremely believable world J. Voight- yah you know we were doing our looks to different things and people talk about that a lot but the making of the film is really a family of people having to work together and lots of the people we were working with we really didnt even know on the set because those were the guys who were going to make believable what we were interacting with and it was an amazing experience for us all to go see the film and see what they came up with because its so brilliant and its so I mean its so thrilling to look at that art work and uh be care for it and be frightened by it and be in the mix of this film this story they really did there job so we were trying to do our job but we didnt know what the other guys were going to be doing but they certainly did their job A04-HRN-1298 Cam A In 05:27:23 Out 05:28:32 Sound bite: R.Taylor/J. Voight- talks about how they like the film R. Taylor- it far surpassed it I was completely blown away by the finished project I mean I had a sense that I was working on something special and pretty epic but when I, I was so excited when i saw the original film and it was funny it was alive I was sort of clutching Anthony Anderson just dazzled by what I was seeing J. Voight- and I had a back round when I was a young fellow and I thought I was going to be an artist from 3 to 6 I was going to be an artist and then I saw films and and I realized that my little talent my 2 dimensional talent was obsolete but now I come back and I look at this stuff and I say what an amazing what an amazing art there is in this film and it serves the story so beautifully but its , its astounding and any body who hasnt sent the film yet your going to be blown away. R. Taylor- the only sort of comparable experience for me Jurassic Park was the first film that I ever saw in a movie theater and I felt so just over awed by what i as looking at and when I saw this film again thats the first time that I had this feeling A05-HRN-1298 Cam A In 05:28:33 Out 05:30:54 Sound bite: R.Taylor/J. Voight- talks about how it is working with Michael Bay R. Taylor- Michael Bay is a crazy mad genius you know and I think thats pretty clear when you see the film I mean hes a very like challenging, demanding director to work for but he gets results man seriously hes an incredibly gifted person. J. Voight- its great when I hear Rachel talk about because um Michael its almost like watching, when we first all got together and saw this film we were astounded in a certain way to be in this world and when you meet Michael and then you go and work for him your astounded to be in his world haha sometimes hes remarkable when people describe him they describe him in all sorts of, they use metaphors to describe him you know one of my favorites is captain adrenaline you know its theres something extraordinary going on and I used to watch Michael come on the set and he would come on usually a little late cuz hes doing so many things making decisions and on the phone and he finally arrives on the set and then Id see him just like an actor in the wings, pausing and looking at all the stuff that came together because of his talent I mean thats his game and his responsibility to bring it off and I saw him just take that big breath and then all of a sudden he would start out on full speed ahead you know what I mean and he would go through the whole day like that get that the camera over here, oh haha get over here what are you going to say ok but say that, like that and woah were off running and it goes the whole day like that but it was amazing but hes a genius and I think this is initially was concerned whether he should do this film his advisors were saying well its a family its a childs film and then when he got into it al of a sudden he realized no this is his film and this is the way he can express himself best and everybodys counting on him to so anyways what an amazing journey.
