- Summary: (Episode four) As Steve and Fiona start to make arrangements for the wedding,Tony's jealous side comes out and he steals Steve's latest stolen car for a joke. He soon discovers that Steve is in something a lot deeper though when he finds wads of cash and bags of cocaine hidden in the car. He calls Steve round who explains he does favours for mates to pay off an old debt and he wants to get out of it but can't. Tony returns the car,money and drugs to Steve who loads them into a bag. Meanwhile everyone gets excited about the wedding and Lillian from the estate makes the dresses. Marty gets sick of Carol's yappy dog Peppe so sends her off on a holiday and gets the vet to give him an injection to lose his voice permanently. Frank says a comment Ian makes is gay and asks him if he is,Ian punches him and Frank seems convinced he isn't but this doesn't stop Ian worrying. Lip and Ian ask for help from Mandy Maguire,daughter of the notorious Maguire family,who has some history with Ian. She comes round pretending to be Ian's boyfriend and has sex with Lip whilst Ian listens to music in the wardrobe. It works and everyone thinks Mandy and Ian have a healthy sex life. Steve goes to meet his 'mates' Ollie and Mack to hand over the drugs but Tony and Stan turn up,Mack turns out to have a gun and it all goes wrong when Tony lets it slip that he knows Steve,they think Steve has set them up and Mack goes to shoot him but Steve grabs the gun and shoots Mack. He goes into hiding at Tony's,Tony thinks he has sorted it all out and Steve should be in the clear except that his prints are all over the drugs. Tony and Stan take Steve home in the middle of the night,he tells Fiona everything and the whole family start to pack up their belongings. The kids say they want to stay and in an emotional scene,Steve goes alone leaving a distraught Fiona behind.

Dad Frank is a drunk who is of no help to anyone and has now shacked up with Sheila,a kind woman,but who suffers from numerous mental health problems and their twin babies Nigel and Delia. Veronica and Kev are good friends of the Gallagher's and live next door to the family while local policemen Tony and Stan tend to turn a blind eye whenever they can to keep the families out of trouble. Veronica's mum,Carol and brother Marty,who suffers from Tourettes syndrome,often join them down the local pub,The Jockey,where Kev works and which is run by lesbian landlady Jez. Sheila's daughter,Karen works at the pub having told Jez that she is gay and now lives in the flat upstairs as well. Ian is gay but only his twin brother Lip knows,he has been seeing Kash who runs the corner shop where he works for some time. Kash's wife Yvonne found out about them but has decided to stay in the marriage and keep quiet so she can get a few more kids out of him.
