Summary:Michael Murray, newly elected council leader, pays a surprise visit to the headmaster of his old junior school, Mr Weller . . threatening to settle old scores. Later, Murray has Weller demoted and transferred to a school for disturbed children. it is run by mild-mannered Jim Nelson. Murray is persuaded by some big-time 'politicos' (Lou Barnes, Mervyn Sloan, Peter) to call a Day of Action in his city to coincide with the opening of parliament. On the day of the strike everyone stops work except Jim Nelson because the pickets couldn't find his school. The spotlight moves away from Murray and over to Nelson as the hero of the day.
