Fantasises with music of officers performing covered with 'used' toilet paper. Sylvia's depressed. Harold Atterbow who works with her comes to give her a lift. Francis tells Hopper about Berry beating up his wife. Berry hears them and attacks Francis-shoving his head down the unflushed toilet. Sylvia creeps downstairs and steals money from Vickie's tea caddy. Officers aghast new Battle Order has to be out ahead of time. Francis loses track of time in Charing Cross Road book shop. Hopper still musically fantasising. Brigadier Sanders (M16) arrives with latest news on Suez. Sylvia daydreams about Francis.
