- Summary: The legendary jazz singer Adelaide Hall was filmed in concert in April 1989, backed by the vetran sax player Benny Waters. Together they have 148 years of music making behind them. Adelaide Hall first sang professionally in 1921 in the musical "Shuffle Along", recorded with Duke El lington in 1927, and starred at the Cotton Club in the thirties. In interview s he tells the story of her musical career, and in concert sings many numbers from her repertoire including the Duke Ellington songs "Creole Love Call" and "Drop Me Off In Harlem" and two numbers she first introduced, "Ill Wind" and "I can't Give You Everything But Love'. The concert is glamorous and age-defying and there are clips from the thirties of Adelaide in the "All Coloured Vaudeville Show " at the Florida Club, London singing "It Aint What You Do, It's The Way That.."
