As the crisis between Charles I & his Parliament descended into military conflict, many people from all classes & regions of the country tried to remain neutral. Gradually they were drawn into the war, either in actual fighting or as civilians caught in crossfire of siege & local skirmishes. Everyone was affected as neighbour fought neighbour, brother fought brother & father fought son.
