Summary:In 1963 an Australian aboriginal boy was taken from him mother and adopted by a white Salvation Army family. They named him James Hudson Savage and brought him up as a white boy with a brown skin in keeping with a now discredited policy of racial integration. But he became alienated from his parents, left home and spent time in jail before being brought to justice on an indictment for murder. In court the Australian Government's policies were as much on trial as Savage himself.
