- Title: 40 Something Changing For Good
- Date: 23rd June 1991
- Summary: CHANGING FOR GOOD: Mid-life crisis is often triggered by change - divorce, redundancy, illness - and change is often frightening. This programme concentrates on the 2 key areas of life: relationships & work and how changes in these affect people in mid-life. Divorce is traumatic at any age but perhaps its harder to adapt to a single life again at 40. We go with Jody, a N York executive (divorced after 20 years of marriage) to a singles party where 40 something men confess to preferring younger women. In London Jane is single again after 13 years with her lover - she approaches a dating agency only to find her age (44) works against her. Suzie thinks she's the victim of her husband's mid-life crisis - he left her for another woman. Tony retired from the RAF at 38 and feels lost and suicidal. But in the USA change is easier and one couple have left their high-income executive jobs for more time with family.
