Summary:THE MAKING OF ARTHUR - The Third Branch of the Mabinogi tells the story of two of the seven survivors of the Irish Expedition: Pryderi, son of Pwyll and Rhiannon, and the middle aged war-weary Manawydan who forfeits his right to the throne of the Island of the Mighty. They are heroic paradigms and the monk deals with their characters with much subtlety. This does not satisfy the Abbot. He wants a story-telling process that will transform history by offering the Norman kings an imperial predecessor called Arthur, even more illustrious than the Emperors of Rome.
Description:It is odd that most british men and women know more about the myths of greece and rome than of their own island. This series will redress the balance by exploring our shared celtic litereay heritage from the mabinogii to arthur.
