- Title: High Interest: South Africa's Black Economy
- Date: 20th December 1992
- Summary: What's the use of political power without economic power? Many black Shouth Africans are concluding that their now expected political victory will be hollow unless the struggle for economic empowerment is also won. SOUTH AFRICA'S BLACK ECONOMY filmed on location in Johannesburg, Sowento, Pretoria and Durban, looks at that struggle through the eyes of the new black entrepreneurs: from those selling goods on the pavement to those signing deals in the boardroom. Government an d ANC politicians and white business leaders also have their say. Among those featured is the millionaire supermarket king of Soweto, who races horses in the ANC colours; and a white senior manager who reports to a black boss in a black owned brewery.
