- Summary: Sophie and William move on to Spain for the final programme in their series on the traditional foods of Europe. For their last journey they travel well off the beaten tourist track to the Extremadura region of Spain, to visit Felisa and Anastasio Sanchez at their home in Llerena, a town with a bloodthirsty past as it was an important centre for the Inquisition. Now the nuns have turned their hands to a gentle pursuit, cooking, and at their convent Sophie buys their special almond cakes 'the hearts of nuns' before helping to prepare a favourite pudding, repapalos. Finally Sophie and William are guests at the Sanchezs' Sunday lunch for their large extended family when- among other delights - they experience a delicious lamb stew - frito di cordero - prepared from local Morino lamb, and revuelto de triguero, made from the wild asparagus that grows among the surrounding fields of wheat.
