- Title: Walk On The Wild Side
- Date: 19th January 1994
- Summary: Fire Bugs: "If I can torch it, I'll torch it..." They do what they do for different reasons - for fun at the expense of those in authority, for a sexual kick or maybe as an answer to a deeply felt urge to see the flames at work. But all of them share a deep fascination for seeing other people's property and possessions destroyed at their whim by fire. The film is based around interviews shot in three young offenders' institutions in England. They look back now on what they have done with often contradictory attitudes - reflective, blasé, regretful, proud. Firebugs follows the course of their thoughts and switches between the funny and the shocking. The programme seeks out people who have been made into shadowy demons in the popular imagination and reveals them to be strangely familiar in their joys and their hang-ups. The film is directed by Paul McGuigan and uses the music of The Fall, Bleach, Smashing Pumpkins, Eugenius and Radio Head.
