- Summary: An updated version of the 1992 programme looks at the hidden crime of abuse of the elderly by relatives - verbal,financial,physical and sexual. Looks at recent reports and studies,including one from Berkshire. The victims have little protection,the police can be refused entry,the victims may refuse help,and the Care in the Community policy increases the number of reluctant carers. The Law Commission suggests that local authorities should have a duty and the powers to inspect conditions. The film talks to geriatricians,social workers and victims. Tim Yeo MP,the junior health minister,is asked what steps the government will take.
