- Title: Citizen 2000 Family Values
- Date: 21st January 1994
- Summary: FAMILY VALUES The children being followed by the CITIZEN 2000 series turned 11 in the year when James Bulger's murder shocked the nation. So we asked them about their own ideas of right and wrong, crime and punishmen: "Those boys should be sent to prison for life", says 10 year old DEAN, as he clambers dangerously through a forbidden ruin. "I find that most things that are exciting are normally wrong", says GEORGIA, who claims she "just knows right and wrong in my mind.". But these family values get turned upside down when one set of parents separates and GEORGIA observes about her own parents' recent divorce: "It seemed that I was the mother and Mummy was the child." There are some surprising insights into the moral world of children on the brink of secondary school. And several voiced the opinion that children are usually innocent, it's adults who really break the rules.
- Description:Three further programmes touching on the lives of the children, with particular emphasis on education - both moral and formal. This is the year our children enter secondary school.
