- Summary: Le Critique - A mood of optimism hit Paris and Rocket and Minotti are affected. Degout painted a masterpiece but no one cares. Valerie refuses to be optimistic. She tries to make another suicide attempt and needs Degout to take sons of the big Charles Duchont around Paris, leaving her to jump in front of the train. Degout meets the wrong father and takes the wrong kids, Charles Jr and Michel. Things go wrong and Charles Jr decides to commit suicide to spite Degout. For awhile things look bleak but Valerie rescues him from the Seine and returns him. Degout gives out his masterpiece to the father in the hope he will put it up in his gallery. After Charles and the boys leave, it is revelled that Degout has been chaperoning the wrong family and he masterpiece is lost forever.
