Summary:In this short animated film we go behind the scenes at the launch of Europe's new space defence system - The Joint Operations Entity - or JOEY for short.
Developed over twenty years by more than five thousand of Europe's top brains, the system has cost a staggering 160 billion pounds to complete.
Now, at last, JOEY can be unveiled to the world. JOEY is the first piece of animation to be produced entirely using a standard desktop PC. No paper, cell or other film/video machinery was used. The characters were drawn directly into the computer using a graphics tablet, then animated, edited and dubbed in the machine. The animation runs "real time" directly from the computers hard disk and tape was only used to take copies for broadcast and distribution.
