- Description:Two women who have never met agree to swap homes, children and husbands for two weeks to see what they can learn about their own lives. The women have to cope with a new spouse,be mother to other people's children and then meet up with the other couple at the end of the two weeks to tell each other how it all went. During the first week the new wife is expected to do everything that the real wife does at home and to the same standard whether they agree with it or not. The second week then brings about the opportunity for the new wives to show these families how they do things and how they think they can improve the family's lives. The families, usually coming from very opposite worlds, inevitably clash on issues such as child rearing, house keeping and life style choices Narrator: Ken Lorimer Produced and Directed by: James Dawson (Episode six) The Baileys live in Worksop near Sheffield; have been together for eight years and have seven children. Charlotte and Jay 17 and 14,Jamie and Ryan 14 and 12,Kieran 7,Ayden 6 and Kirsty age 2. Marina is the breadwinner and works as a market researcher and lets house husband Nigel do everything else. Nigel is a perfectionist so doesn't let Marina do anything as it is not up to standard; he even cooks for everyone and will cook five different meals a night to keep all seven children happy. Nigel doesn't believe his wife and children should do any housework and prefers to do it all himself. The Deuce-Mills have been together for two years, live in Wales and have five dogs. Darren is step-dad to Alexandra's ten-year-old son Victor. Darren and Alex enjoy a creative and spiritual lifestyle; Darren meditates and practices Reiki whilst Alex is the main earner of the family working as a speech therapist and writing poetry. Darren works a few hours a day as a bus driver but is mainly a house husband although Alex does all the cooking and Darren cleans, occasionally. Darren also believes in delegating so has got Victor doing all the washing up. In this episode the two house-husbands swap homes as both their wives are the sole breadwinners at home. Darren finds it nearly impossible to live up to Nigel's excessive cleaning and cooking for the whole family and feels that Marina is not a proper wife to him as she lets him wait on her hand and foot. His rule changes see Marina looking after her children and doing chores and she begins to see that she is more then capable of contributing and even enjoys it. The children however,do not react so well to all the new rules and Darren loses his temper when Jamie tries to stand up to him. Nigel is introduced to Reiki healing, poetry and motorbikes and when his mammoth cleaning session goes unappreciated with Alexandra he gives up and begins to see that chilling out isn't so bad after all.
