Some are committed to getting pregnant conventionally and so first will need to find a man,some adopt,some try for a baby on their own by various methods,and,statistically some find that their fertility levels are worryingly low. Their collective experiences reveal the reality of trying for a baby over the age of 30. (episode two) Who's the father? Ruth is 39 and facing a big choice; she is a successful single woman and is wondering how to have a child. Joy is 36 and gay,she knows that she wants a sperm-donor in order to have a child but she does not want him to be anonymous. The donor needs to be from the same area as the rest of her family in Uganda and needs to be involved in the child's life. Julia has already had one baby from an anonymous sperm-donor and now wants a second child. The decision she needs to make is whether to use a sperm-donor again or wait for a man to come along.
