- Title: Putting The Fun In Fundamental
- Date: 21st December 2004
- Summary: Although he fronts a religious series, quirky presenter Elliott Gerner has felt one step removed from many of the devotees he's encountered, and senses he has yet to feel a true "religious experience". Recently, he witnessed the miracle of creation, the birth of his first-born, Noah, and throughout the filming of the series has gradually been feeling more accepting of faith and religion. Inspired, Elliott visits Turkey for the last programme in the series to explore the legacy of Noah's Ark in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. He tries to hasten his own religious experience with the help of practitioners of each religion, including whirling dervishes in Istanbul. He also meets a team of Evangelical Christians determined to dig up evidence of the Ark on the "mountain of pain" Mount Ararat, as well as their competitors, who have laid claim to the famous boat. He might not solve the riddle of the Ark, but will Elliott be able to crack one of the oldest of human desires: to make contact with God?
