Description:Following on from the critical success of the award winning Feltham Sings,Songbirds is a documentary musical in which female prisoners sing of their experiences in prison and how they ended up inside.
For women on the inside life can be tough. There's the constant pain of those who are separated from their kids either for their sentence or forever. For many there's hideous memories of physical abuse and for some there's the sad reality that life on the inside seems preferable to that on the out. How do these women feel, what do they talk about and why are they here? This documentary musical features some of these women, who sing of life in prison and the circumstances which led to them being there. These songs are emotive and heart-felt,and for the women a rare chance to tell their story.
