- Summary: (episode ten: Flight Into Terror) Ted boards a plane having been to visit the famous shrine of Kilnettle with Dougal and Jack. Ted's fear of flying soon becomes a reality as Dougal informs him that he pushed a button which emptied all of the fuel. There are only two parachutes but whilst they are deciding who should get them Jack takes them both; one for him and one for the drinks cabinet. Luckily,Ted's fear of flying turns into calm determination when in the face of a real disaster and he manages to save the day by climbing onto the wheel of the plane and using Dougal's talking tape dispenser to repair a wire. Once the drama is over,however,the reality of what he has done dawns on Ted and he becomes unable to let go of the wheel of the plane due to the trauma of his ordeal.
- Description:On a small island off the west coast of Ireland called Craggy Island live three priests and a housekeeper. Father Ted Crilly dreams of an easy life and a parish in Las Vegas,but these dreams are constantly shattered by the weird and wonderful house guests and events that always seem to occur on Craggy Island. Father Ted lives with young Father Dougal McGuire who lives in a world of oblivion and needs constant looking after,and Father Jack Hacket; a semi-conscious alcoholic who spends his days sleeping in his chair,dreaming of girls or shouting abuse and demanding more drink. The three priests are constantly bombarded by cups of tea,forced on them by Mrs Doyle,the housekeeper who wont take no for an answer. Father Ted spends his days trying to stay sane in the face of his eccentric housemates and the even more bizarre guests that befall his doorstep. Second Series.
