This video footage comes from Italian emergency services’ aerial reconnaissance drones over the Conselice area of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna on Sunday (21May2023). Emilia-Romagna has experienced catastrophic flooding that has claimed at least 14 lives and left more than 36,000 people homeless. The emergency has affected 100 cities and towns – many of which are still under water. Six months’ worth of rain fell within 36 hours across Emilia-Romagna last week, just two weeks after the area was hit by intense storms that killed two. The floods were preceded by a drought. More than 305 landslides have been caused by the latest floods.
