Description:01 08 00 00 France, 1910s. An old bell-ringer climbs the stairs of his bell tower with difficulty, carrying a ladder. He reaches the summit and leans his ladder against the bell to repair it, but roguish children dressed in smocks enter the bell-tower, pulling on the ropes to ring the bells. The bell-ringer clutches the bell so as not to fall. The children ring the more beautiful bells. A bourgeois family comes out of their villa because they hear the strangely echoing sound of bells. They wonder what's going on. Suddenly, they spot the bell-ringer dangling on the bells, in danger of falling; they rush to help.
