Description:00 30 20 00 United States, 1910s. Train station. In front of a train with cars full of straw, Doris May tries to explain herself to a group of tramps, who accuse her of hitting them. She defends herself against their accusations, and one sees class differences. She and the tramps are taken by the stationmaster. Meanwhile, Hallam Cooley speeds down a country road. May and the group of tramps traverse the city under police escort. A motorcyclist policeman hidden in the brush watches the road, and sees Cooley who is driving recklessly and too fast, exceeding the speed limit, and breaking traffic laws - car chase! A sheriff appears in the middle of the road and stops Cooley's car to give him a citation.
