Title:Demolition of Hong Kong old reservoir halted after calls for heritage assessment
Date:28th December 2020
Description:The Hong Kong government has suspended the removal of a reservoir at Bishop Hill in Sham Shui Po, after some lawmakers and residents called for authorities to carry out a heritage assessment on the site.
According to a government report, construction of the service reservoir on a hill to the north of Kowloon Tong was completed on August 10, 1904. It was built as an existing reservoir in Kowloon was found to be inadequate, according to another government document dated 1900.
