These increases in the number of infections are that we have had 107 new infections in the last 24 hours. This is the first 3-digit increase in many weeks. That is worrying and we take it very seriously!" -WS Presser -SOUNDBITE- (german) Rudolf Anschober, health minister: And so we realize today that there is a focus and that is now Upper Austria, a regional focus with significant growth with a plus of 2.48% in the last 24 hours. This is obviously due to a cluster that was identified days ago and it is now becoming clearer that there are more people affected - in the surroundings of a free church." -SOUNDBITE- (german) Alexander Schallenberg, foreign minister: In some countries of the Western Balkan, as also mentioned by the Minister of Health, the situation has worsened. That is why I must announce here and now that with immediate effect the highest travel warning applies to all 6 countries of the Western Balkan! -WS Presser -SOUNDBITE (german) Alexander Schallenberg, foreign minister: And this applies especially to travel outside the EU this summer. We must do everything in our power to prevent a second wave. This is in the interest of all of us. -SOUNDBITE (german) Nehammer, austrian interior minister: The big risk : on your return, the coronavirus may be in your luggage. This means that we will have intensive controls at the borders. You know that we have migration controls at the border between Austria and Slovenia anyway. They are again being reinforced by the health authorities. -WS presser -SOUNDBITE (german) Nehammer, austrian interior Minister: And we must also point out that it is not a trivial offence to enter without a valid coronavirus test - that is a negative one - and not to comply with the isolation measures, the quarantine. Fines of up to EUR 1450 are threatened. -Presser ends, ministers leaving room
