Description:Austria puts 3 Salzburg villages on lockdown as part of efforts to contain coronavirus outbreak
Austrian authorities have put three more villages in the province of Salzburg on lockdown on Tuesday, March 31, after sharp increases of cases were reported in one day. Altenmarkt, Zell am See and Altenmarkt will go under lockdown at midnight, a measure the governor of Salzburg Wilfried Haslauer said was necessary after a significant rise in new infections of COVID occured in all three villages.
A total of 9 communities in Salzburg are under lockdown.
