- Date: 28th March 2020
- Description:The spring-like weather in Austria has again led to violations stay at home rule In Vienna in particular, at temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius, not everyone obeys the stay-at-home restrictions on containing coronavirus. Doing sports is allowed as an important compensation for staying at home during COVID-19 crisis, but only on one`s own or with people who live in the same household, and not for too long. Sports facilities remain closed and may only be entered for maintenance work. A general ban on outdoor sports is currently out of the question. But if the problems and complaints pile up, it is conceivable. Whereas public parks are open, the federal gardens in Vienna, such as the Burggarten (Burg garden) near the Vienna Hofburg, are closed. This spring-like weekend with mild temperatures and sunny weather has once again sparked the debate about the opening of the federal gardens in the city of Vienna. The Mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, wants the federal gardens to be open to everyone again, at the latest after Easter. The Austrian federal government has announced an interim result of the two-week COVID-19 measures for Monday. Shotlist Item contains coverage of the closed federal garden Burggarten (Burg garden) and the Prater, a large public park in Vienna`s 2nd district.
