- Description: Janice is an accomplished writer, who has penned scripts for television, radio and theatre. For the small screen, she has written for the BBC?s ongoing soap Doctors and recently participated in 4Stories, Channel 4?s initiative for emerging talent. In 2018, she wrote for BBC children?s drama Hetty Feather and Channel 4 anthology series On the Edge, with a standalone episode entitled A Mother?s Love. She has written numerous radio plays, including adaptations of Malorie Blackman?s Noughts & Crosses and Kate Chopin?s The Awakening. Janice is also an award-winning playwright: she won a Channel 4 playwriting bursary for her first play, Egusi Soup; and her second play, Three Birds, was the winner of the 2011 Bruntwood Prize, the UK?s biggest national competition for new writing. Three Birds was also shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award for best new and emerging writers, and the Alfred Fagon Award, which recognises and promotes plays by British writers of Caribbean and African descent. Janice has several projects in development, including two feature films and a radio play. Her next play, The Gift, is scheduled for production at the Theatre Royal Stratford East in January 2020.
