Its a comedy show but its also um theres rooted in reality but its also somewhat scripted, its very um its very new, its a very new kind of genre, so Im very excited about that. 01:19:38 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho It starts on August 21st on VH1 and it airs at 11pm. 01:20:00 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Um its possible I might do more acting stuff, Im not really sure, I just really love my show and I love doing standup comedy so those are my main focuses. 01:20:11 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Yes Im on tour right now with a show called Beautiful and Im on a couple of weeks of a break and Ill be back touring on a full scale in August. 01:20:23 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho I love Liam Sullivan. Hes a really incredible artist and um really really wonderful friend and hes somebody that I will collaborate with over time you know, we have another project that were working on, Liam and I are working on together and hes really an amazing guy and so we have a lot of fun. 01:20:50 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Liam I met initially when um he did the Shoes video because my husband made the robot thats in the Shoes video and uh so in that after the video was finished I was actually one of the first people to see it, and I was so blown away by it I was just so ready to share it with everybody I knew and I put it on my blog and from there it went viral which is really incredible and um he uh agreed to be in my show, The Centerous Woman which is a variety show and um so hes been sort of with me the last couple of years on this journey and touring now also, hes a tremendous gift to me in my life. 01:21:31 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho He will be probably eventually maybe next season, we didnt get to do it this season but next season. 01:21:46 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho I dont know, I just would like to continue working and continue doing my TV show or doing standup or traveling or doing whatever that takes shape, whatever shape or form that takes. I enjoy my career so I dont I dont know I hope that it keeps going. 01:22:25 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho I always try to bolster their confidence and I try to give them sound advice about what theyre doing. I try to help whoever I can I mean Im very very supportive to younger comics, whether theyre Asian Americans or not in general younger comics always need support and especially people who arent a minority you know whether theyre a person of color or theyre um gay or whatever it is that sets them apart, I always try to make sure that I spend more time to encourage them um but I think its very important, I think somebody in my position has a responsibility to do some mentoring and some teaching and um that this is how we pass it on because people are so good to me when I was coming up I got a lot of mentoring and a lot of wonderful sage advice and a lot of help so I pass along the same. 01:23:13 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Yeah Jerry Seinfeld was a major comic mentor. Very very important comic mentor for me. Um Rosanne, Rosy ODonnell, those are people who are very very supportive and also very helpful when I was young and starting, so I always want to do something to help people now, whatever I can do. 01:23:52 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho It plays all over the world. Everything I do wherever I go, my sensibility is really accepted and really, its really excited even in places where they dont have that opinion or voice all the time. Its really an incredible thing so it plays wherever I go. 01:24:12 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Its cool, actually Omahas really cool. So Peorias very cool. Its all very interesting. I think the world has changed a lot too because um the internet and how information is passed around its sort of like the idea of something remote or rural is like changing so I think its really great. I feel like things are changed and I have a good time wherever I go nowadays. 01:24:51 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho I like to use the internet as a tool just to get my opinions out there. I blog I have um a very visible presence on the web that theres a lot of theres a lot of activity going on on my website. Theres um also a you know I make videos for online you know purposes and Ive kind of followed in Liams footsteps in that you know cause hes so great at that and Ive learned a lot from him making online videos and comedy and trying to do that more so I just think that comedy and internet is just really a perfect combination especially with YouTube and everything, you can really put videos out there every day its incredible or just get um to see people you havent seen before, its like really unique and really exciting so I love it. 01:25:47 - Sound Bite: Margaret Cho I would love to be in a movie with Jet Li and I would love to be in a movie with Angelina Jolie. I think thats pretty great. So yes. 01:27:30 - Sound Bite: Selene Luna I got involved with Margaret at, well Ive known Margaret for a few years now. We have a lot of friends in common, and eventually uh we met at her house, I attended her birthday party, and we met and then um I guess shortly thereafter we just started doing stuff together um we did like a short film and then she invited me to perform in her stage variety show the Centuous Woman and um as it was I was already doing burlesque and um so weve done tons of shows together I mean like mostly stage and so and then it lead to the TV show. 01:28:09 - Sound Bite: Selene Luna Yeah, lucky me. Um its amazing, its really fun because um I know this sounds really corny and clich, and I cant believe Im getting paid to do this, but really I cant. like goofing off with my friends all day long, its like thats not a job. (talks) Um actually the foods pretty darn good. Uh huh. Um yeah we like to eat, we dont like to mess around with food. Yeah whats uh, we have our meals every hour. 01:28:47 - Sound Bite: Selene Luna Well my part in Margarets TV show is actually its just like real life in the sense where we really are good friends but she also employs me, Im her personal assistant um how it lead up to that was once the Centuous Woman tour ended I was in need of a day job and she needed an assistant and so it really was a win-win situation. (talks) I am. So its great because um she totally knows my life and I can easily get time off to do a gig you know and at the same time as her assistant I totally understand what her needs are and just knowing her as well as I do and so it really its turned out to work really perfectly. 01:29:51 - Sound Bite: Selene Luna I dont even know where to begin with the cock talk because hot guys was, that was already on with us before the TV show. Just now the cameras happen to be on while were chasing dick around.
