Sound Bite: Matthew Borlenghi Without equal. I feel punked, I feel lucky. I feel punked. I feel lucky punk. As a director hes awesome he makes beautiful films you cant ask more then that, I would give my left nut to work with him on a film as my director. 00:03:14 - B-Roll Shot of Clint Eastwood. 00:04:12 - Sound Bite: Clint Eastwood Well yeah theres those kind of movies and then theres movie CG uh computer generated and we didnt have the opportunity to do that in Dirty Harry days so our guys could only do what they could do but uh yeah theres the fantasy films and that seems to be hot with the young audience and thats cool. I think adult audiences theyll like something a bit more real. 00:04:46 - Sound Bite: Clint Eastwood Absolutely not. I have no take on it, it looks like uh. Absolutely will not be VP. No I think uh I think its up to another generation to pick up a mantel on that, its uh Im spending most of my time directing films. Ill do a character if its the right, if it suits me to try to reach back to another day is not practical. 00:05:32 - B-Roll Shot of Clints back. Glamour shot of Lorainna Mendoza and Shaun Toub. Shot of Clint talking to the press. 00:06:33 - Sound Bite: Lonny Ross Alright enough already with Clint Eastwood. What brings me out here? Like to this event or California? Oh well Dirty Harry is a cultural icon of a character and its inspiring and Im fascinated by, you know and any movie from that era Im fascinated by. 00:06:49 - Sound Bite: Lonny Ross I am from New York. I actually got out here about a week ago. Good times. Traffic is always fun and uh looking for some good slice of pizza but other than that uh, no its beautiful (talking) The babes, Im staying in Venice so Im out here just to enjoy the sun. I was like feeling a little congested in New York so I came here for space, and the ladies. If theyll talk to me sure. Thats the problem. 00:07:18 - Sound Bite: Lonny Ross Uh, thats a good question, I need to I need to, you dont think of him I mean cause its that dark comedy that he dose so well but I guess I am not as familiar as I would like to be. No. 00:07:38 - Sound Bite: Lonny Ross Intense. Intense glare, I admire his glare and his just screen presence is something to admire you know its really interesting certain people just have that screen presence and uh the man standing five feet away from me does so uh yeah. I admire it and I aspire to be, to have that one day comedy or otherwise. 00:07:58 - Sound Bite: Lonny Ross Very incredible, incredible director, you know um what hold on whats that movie where he play a national geographic uh (talking) oh my god Bridges of Madison County, I love that movie, Im not saying he directed it but he was so so good in that movie, such a macho guy, such a heart warming role its got five stars in my Netflix rating so I love that movie. 00:08:25 - B-Roll Clint Eastwood walking in. Shots of the crowd. Shot of the DGA flag to a pull out of the crowd. Shot of Clint getting his picture taken. Wide shot of the interior. Shot of the wood Theatre 1 on the wall. Shot of the DGA flag pull out to the crowd. Shot of Jimmy Smiths and Wanda De Jesus walking in. Shot of the photographers taking pictures. Wide of Smiths and De Jesus. 00:11:25 - B-Roll Close up of Smiths. Shots of the both of them while they are being interviewed. Shot of the American flag and the chandelier. 00:14:20 - Sound Bite: Jimmy Smiths/Wanda De Jesus Wanda De Jesus Um during in between takes, wicked, wicked sense of humor, wonderful, wonderful fast on the take, you know I mean uh the roles, I did Blood Work which was a heavy themed thing so we were pretty serious but uh in between takes he would say really wonderful things and crack up his crew and we had a good time. 00:14:49 - Sound Bite: Jimmy Smiths/Wanda De Jesus Jimmy Smiths I didnt really get to work with him I just watched him work so it never was about I was just amazed. Wanda De Jesus I tell you. Im just going to say one like off the record, its really great, in between takes we uh uh we uh during Blood Work, Clint and I were in this post-koidal kind of sleeping and wed get interrupted by the intruder and the scene is over and were all, were getting ourselves together and walking out and he says well you look like Dina so I dont feel like I cheated on my wife. So I turn to him and I looked at him and I said well you look nothing like Jimmy what does that make me? And we crack each other up throughout the filming this way. Jimmy Smiths I wasnt there for that one. (Laughing) 00:15:37 - Sound Bite: Jimmy Smiths/Wanda De Jesus Wanda De Jesus I think hes done fine because hes had a great career but um its, its two different schools because one of the things that I know about Clint is hes all for um improvisation and if you are an actor who is comfortable with improve with, with being your body in time and space then youre going to be fine. Um he loves accidents. So Im one of those actors that I can go swing that way but Im also of the school of rehearsal because there are actors that become better with rehearsals but the key. Jimmy Smiths He likes to shoot rehearsals. Wanda De Jesus He like to shoot rehearsals his story to me first day of filming was he shoot rehearsals of Bridges of Madison County, he got Meryl Streep to agree and he shot her rehearsals which is phenomenal to me you know so thats a testament to how he like to work and if you stay loose enough and relaxed you can really enjoy and I just really enjoyed watching him work. Jimmy Smiths I think that has to do also with the security that he has as a director with the actors that he brings to the party. (talking) Ah really? No it was they actually did it at the Pasadena Playhouse, not with me, but. (talking) 00:17:16 - B-Roll Shots of the interior of the DGA Building zooming in to the Dirty Harry poster. Shot from the lights to the red carpet. Exterior shot of the DGA letters on the wall of the building. Pan from Director to America then pull out. Shot of the top of the building pan down to the stairs. Shot of the letters on the wall to the stairs. Shot from the top of the roof to the letters on the wall. 00:20:11 - Sound Bite: John Milus You know, its really amazing that he has done so much. The best part of what he has done is hes done what hes wanted to do. Hes done so much and its all interesting work I mean all of it you know sometimes there very risky things, some of them are not so successful but theyre all, that is what films should be. Somebody doing stuff its not sequels, its not easy things to do and some of them are just stunning you know. And uh hes really got an extraordinary career as a director. 00:21:02 - Sound Bite: John Milus Yeah but I often wonder what other kind of movies are there, you know I mean other than amusement park rides you know? Arent movies supposed to be driven by characters? Wasnt the Bridge on the River Quad driven by characters? I didnt go just to see the bridge blow up. 00:21:30 - Sound Bite: John Milus Well hopefully Ill have a really good one for you in a year or two. 00:21:49 - B-Roll Exterior Shot of the DGA building.
