- Description:06:38:48 - A01 HRN-823 In: 06.38.48 Out: 06.39.37 Sound Bite: Gary Winick Yes it is and anything I ever will do actually. (talks) Well first of all the biggest thing is you tell people youre doing Charlottes Web and they go oh my god thats my favorite story as a kid and then they say please dont screw it up. So you know that responsibility you know I still feel did I screw it up kind of thing. So theres that and theres just the puzzle on this movie just the, so many pieces of the puzzle, the animals, the CG, the live action, the seasonal stuff, you know just the voice. 06:39:51 - A02 HRN-823 In: 06.39.51 Out: 06.40.28 Sound Bite: Gary Winick Yeah well that was I think, I mean look I think because it was E.B White Charlottes Web there wasnt anyone that we couldnt go to that wouldnt say yes so that was a kind of a given and then you were making the film, it took 2 years to make the film so you also knew that they were saying ok I can fit this in my schedule. But like you say you know to actually have them fit it in the schedule and to actually you know we would sometimes want them to you know work together that was pretty tricky. 06:40:47 - A03 HRN-823 In: 06.40.47 Out: 06.41.11 Sound Bite: Gary Winick No no the shooting was just four or five months so thats what, we had Dakota for that period and you know in that period she grew up a little bit but which of course saw her kind of become a teenager but the, its the voice talent that weve had for two and a half years. 06:41:12 - A04 HRN-823 In: 06.41.12 Out: 06.41.31 Sound Bite: Gary Winick Yeah we basically everyone was committed before we actually shot a frame of film and we went and did one pass with them just so when I was on set with the headphones I could be listening to there dialogue and watching the animal and hopefully trying to match that up. 06:41:37 - A05 HRN-823 In: 06.41.37 Out: 06.42.04 Sound Bite: Gary Winick So the spider Charlotte and Templeton the Rat were completely computer generated, the rest everybody, all the other animals were real and there were the couple of times when the pig flips or the horse falls that that was CG. (talks) Yeah but we got them to do some pretty amazing stuff stuff but yeah that we couldnt get them to do. 06:42:08 - A06 HRN-823 In: 06.42.08 Out: 06.42.38 Sound Bite: Gary Winick Well we had to bread all the pigs so basically from the day there born theres a trainer working with them and we used 47 different pigs for one Wilber so we had a lot of trainers and you know I had my favorites and then of course its a pound a day they grow so theyd out grow me or out grow the parts that I needed them in and wed have to use them for the next part when they got bigger. 06:42:39 - A07 HRN-823 In: 06.42.39 Out: 06.43.18 Sound Bite: Gary Winick Well I had a made a film 13 Going on 30 and people seemed to like and so Paramount said what I am interested in and I said really I kind of think I, my, is relationships and just honest and truthful relationships and they said you know would you consider Charlottes Web and I kind of was like maybe and then when I read it that night was like well you know what its really an intimate story about friendship and I can do this I mean I had no idea what that really meant. But really in terms of the core of it and it was about something that I felt like I had to tell that story so. 06:43:24 - A08 HRN-823 In: 06.43.24 Out: 06.43.53 Sound Bite: Gary Winick Well the trainers were great so within comparison I mean sure there were problems but the whole movie was about basically was primarily animals so in kind of proportionate you know times they would sort of not do what there told or run a muck and you know it was probably nothing compared to how much we used, how much it did work out.
